Man did 2014 go quickly! Now 2015 is upon us it is time to start looking forward to what the design community is predicting for this year. Pantone, the international authority on colour, has released its Spring (our Autumn) 2015 forecast, including 2015 Colour of the Year Marsala. Pantone has said 'this season there is an emphasis on the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum, with bold color taking a more supportive role as an accent' and we're seeing a move away from the pastel shades that are traditionally associated with Springtime.
When it comes to the Colour of the Year, Marsala, Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute describes it as "nurturing and fulfilling, Marsala is a natural fit for the kitchen and dining room – making it ideal for tabletop, small appliances and linens throughout the home." We matched the collection with materials for benchtop and cabinetry below - even though Spring is a long way off for us (thankfully, we want more summer!) there's no reason why our interiors should have to wait!

Scuba Blue conveys a sense of carefree playfulness. Even though a cool shade, the vibrancy of Scuba Blue adds a splash of excitement to the palette. Scuba Blue offers a feeling of escape as it is reminiscent of a tropical ocean. This stirring and energizing shade takes us off to an exotic paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if only a fantasy.
Lucite Green is a soothing green shade whose time has really come again. Fresh and clarifying, cool and refreshing, Lucite Green has a minty glow. Light in weight and also in tone, Lucite Green seems almost transparent.
Classic Blue inspires calm, confidence and harmony. Serving as an anchor to the Spring/Summer 2015 palette, Classic Blue is a shade that is strong and reliable. Just as with the sea, because of its waterborne qualities, this Classic Blue is perceived as thoughtful and introspective.
