Trend Vision: Essence

Following on from our Trend Vision 2014/15 intro last week, we look into the first trend, ESSENCE, in a little more depth.

ESSENCE: Focusing on simple, pure materials and muted sometimes faded colours such as Flax, Hessian, Denim Blues, Dark Smokey Blues, Soft Whites and Pale Greys.

Cotton White, and shades of black, lay the foundations, while wheat and mineral grey pave their way for natural highlights. Grey becomes important alongside white with a move towards more neutral and cooler greys. Colours and patterns have the feel of the hand made, which is the new luxury.  Soft, feminine and poetic forms are key.

Texture and geometric forms are used to bring interest in the absence of colour.  Faded colours lend a touch of nostalgia.  We look to the past for inspiration, but view retro colour and styling in a fresh new way.

Laminex Solid Surface portrays a luxurious feel, ideal for any special space, whether it be commercial or residential. It is 100% Acrylic, but this solid surface can be thermoformed allowing more flexibility for inventive designs.

Our favourites from the Laminex New Zealand range that reflect the Essence theme beautifully are:
