Advantages

  • Can be flat or pattern
  • Can achieve a high gloss
  • Large colour range and finish options

Disadvantages

  • Low durability – chips and scratches easily
  • Can be expensive to repair
  • Colour matching older doors hard with colour fading
  • Higher gloss levels can lead to an orange peel finish (rippling)

Lacquered Doors

Doors to be finished in lacquer are manufactured out of an MDF substrate (base) which can be shaped or paneled depending on the look required The doors are then sprayed with a pigmented, precatalysed lacquer or a 2 pack urethane Advantages for this type of door are that there is a huge range of colour options available, different levels of gloss can be achieved and a pattern ... more >>
